Trouble with Hospice Compare?


It has come to NHPCO’s attention that the organizational demographic information (e.g. address, phone number, tax status) displayed in Medicare’s new Hospice Compare website is incorrect for some hospices.

NHPCO is extremely concerned about these errors and is working to get CMS to make the needed corrections as soon as possible.

If the organizational demographic information for your hospice contains errors, NHPCO wants to hear from you. Send an email to with the following:

  • The nature of the error (i.e., what is incorrect – address, phone, name of hospice?)
  • The approximate date when you identified the error
  • Steps you have taken to get the error corrected (e.g., contact with ASPEN/CASPER coordinator, contact with Regional Office) with approximate dates
  • The outcome of your efforts to get the correction made (i.e., what you were told would happen)

We are especially interested in hearing from hospices who found errors prior to the release of Hospice Compare, took steps to get the errors corrected, but the corrections still have not been made by CMS.
