Coalition Letter and NHPCO Letter in response to CMS RFI on Medicare Advantage (MA) Value-Based Insurance Design (VBID) Model

In December 2023, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) published a request for information (RFI) on the Medicare Advantage (MA) Value-Based Insurance Design (VBID) Model. The RFI sought comment on various aspects of the VBID model, particularly hospice care and health equity, including hospice access, network adequacy requirements for Medicare Advantage Organizations (MAOs) and the potential for the use of prior authorization.
On February 16, 2024 NHPCO submitted its own response to the RFI and a larger coalition, including NHPCO, submitted a response to the RFI.
