100+ Hospice Advocates on the Hill
- From across the full spectrum of hospice and palliative care providers and stakeholders, including state association leaders, C-suite members, medical directors, nurses, volunteer coordinators, and more.
- Representing 34 states across the nation.
- More than half of attendees had never participated in a DC Hill Day previously.
- For the first time, included a large cohort of Veterans providers.
150+ Congressional Offices Visited
- 58 Senate offices
- 98 Representative offices
- Meeting with members of all political parties, including offices of Speaker Mike Johnson and Leader Chuck Schumer.
- Engaging with hospice champions, including a majority of House Ways and Means Committee members and members of the Senate Finance Committee.
Policy Priority Asks
- Hospice Special Focus Program: Support efforts calling on CMS to adjust the hospice SFP to better capture poor performers rather than penalize good actors with a bad algorithm.
- Fraud: Support for CMS to implement a temporary, targeted moratorium in states seeing a disproportionate number of bad actors: CA, AZ, NV, TX.
- Telehealth: Support the Hospice Recertification Flexibility Act (H.R.8278).
- Veterans: Support Gerald’s Law Act (S.1330 / H.R. 234).
- Workforce: Support the Palliative Care and Hospice Education and Training Act (PCHETA) (S. 2243).
- Payment: Support efforts calling on CMS to give adequate annual payment increases.
- Payment: Oppose cutting or further slowing the growth of the Hospice Aggregate Cap.
