Would you like to strengthen your skills as a hospice and palliative care advocate? Are you interested in building relationships with Members of Congress? Are you passionate about the hospice and palliative care community? Would you like to learn how to influence federal policymakers to pass legislation that could improve the delivery of quality hospice and palliative care?

GREAT NEWSApplications for the Hospice Action Network’s My Hospice Ambassadors Program are NOW OPEN! Since the program’s official launch in 2019, Ambassadors have made a profound impact on Capitol Hill spearheading efforts to pass the Rural Access to Hospice Act and leading grassroots advocacy efforts in their states.

The My Hospice Ambassadors Program was created to train and educate a top-tier class of hospice and palliative care advocates who are willing to establish meaningful, long lasting relationships with Members of Congress. With the help of the HAN Team, Ambassadors will become well-versed on hospice and palliative care issues and make multiple touches with our Congressional targets per year, with the ultimate goal of helping us pass meaningful legislation.

My Hospice Ambassadors will have unique advocacy and media training opportunities and will work directly with the Hospice Action Network Team to organize and host local congressional meetings. Each year, Ambassadors are invited to attend fly-in events with other My Hospice Ambassadors to meet with their federal lawmakers and discuss policies that will make a difference for the entire hospice and palliative are community.

Nominations are due no later than Friday, February 26. Please send all nominations to Sydney Shepherd (sshepherd@nhpco.org).
