My Hospice Round Up: Advocating for Hospice Care
What My Hospice means is different to each individual and family we serve. This month, we asked the #MyHospice community to share stories about how they advocate for hospice care. See some of their responses below:
“Compassus colleagues are important advocates for hospice. Some are involved in regular discussions with policymakers to raise awareness of the benefits of this important type of care. Others serve as champions for hospice as they provide compassionate and high-quality care for patients and their families. Through our advocacy efforts – and those of National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization– we hope more people will have the opportunity to access the many benefits of hospice care in their end-of-life journeys.”

“I am a certified clinical Aromatherapist and my specialty is working with hospice. Using essential oils and salves and creams to help those with anxiety and pain, without bad side effects if used Safely and correctly, is wonderful. It gives comfort and love. I totally feel that those who have to be in hospice are given the extra care they need with gentle knowledgeable professionals who truly care about people.”

“Hospice is an awesome organization!! I’ve volunteered for our local Hospice for many years and love it. You get far more in return than you ever give!”

“The best years of my career was as a hospice nurse. I loved the comradery with my hospice teammates. Being able to help my patients and their families during the most difficult time was very rewarding.”
