Some unfortunate news – PCHETA has been removed from today’s HELP Committee Markup.

It is our understanding that the Department of Health and Human Services raised concerns about some of the accreditation language in the bill. While we are working to understand the exact nature of their concerns, we are committed to providing an appropriate response and maintaining hospice and palliative care as a non-partisan issue. We are in touch with Hill staff and our bill sponsors, who remain committed to PCHETA and our hospice and palliative care community.

So to those of you who had cleared your schedule and prepared to watch a good ol’ fashioned Markup, please stay tuned. We will keep you updated as we learn more, though with the number of legislative days waning, we do not expect much movement until the New Year. But, there’s always hope for a Christmas miracle.
